Celeste was first introduced
to riding in the northeast, where she had the fortunate
opportunity to work with many top trainers who helped form
the foundation for her philosophy on horse care and training.
Some of the
Grand Prix trainers who she has worked with include Hector
Carmona Sr., Simone Mancuso and Jan Luc Cornellie. She has
also attended riding clinics with Olympic medalists Gunnar
Ostergaard, Lenden Gray and Michael Poulin, and she was
a working student at Ann Gribbons Knoll Farm.
Her "free time"
was, and still is, spent reading any horse care and training
books that she can get her hands on and auditing clinics
with top trainers, such as Charles deKnuffy, George Morris
and Michelle Gibson.
Although their
styles may vary, all of the top trainers who she has worked
with share the same basic philosophy: Classical step-by-step
training with no short cuts, a strong foundation of the
basics, and excellent horse care and management are the
essential keys to success.
Celeste's resume
includes 20 years of experience in stable management and
training for a variety of different disciplines, including
dressage, show hunters, fox hunting, race horses, ex-race
horses and breeding. Aside from enjoying teaching and stable
management, she also specializes in overcoming equine behavioral
problems or, as some put it, "problem horses." Her teaching
and training style is both "classical and resistance-free."
Celeste's goal
is to provide a high-quality and comprehensive care and
training program and to create a happy and friendly environment
for the Green Acres boarders, students and staff to enjoy.
