| Dawn
comes to us locally from Powder Springs, GA. She has been
riding since she was seven. Dawn started horse showing
in 1994 in the hunter ring. When she bought her first pony
in 1997 she switched to participating and competing in
Pony Club Rallies in the South Region. Through pony club
she rode with wonderful clinicians such as Richard Lamb,
Leslie Olsen, Werner Givens, Ann Haller, and many more.
Pony Club is where she found a love for Show Jumping. In
2006, she captained the South Region Modified Show Jumping
Team to a 4th place finish and she was placed 16th individually
at the USPC Championships.
She graduated from The University
of Georgia last December with a degree in Animal Science
with a concentration in Equine Management. Through the
Animal Science program at UGA she was able to help teach
the Beginning Horsemanship and the Breaking and Training
classes. While she attended UGA she was a walk-on member
of the UGA Equestrian Team, where she rode Western Horsemanship.
She enjoyed her time on the Equestrian Team because it
gave her a chance to experience a whole new style of riding,
but she still prefers English.
Dawn has been teaching professionally
for over 5 years with students showing in a range of disciplines
from eventing, dressage and hunter/jumpers. She also has
been used as a ratings examiner for D level ratings for
Pony Clubs around the Atlanta Metro Area.
