Kara O’Connor earned a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science from Lake Erie College, with a specialty in Equestrian Teacher/ Trainer in 1996. She then went on to earn a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic University in 2001. From 2002 – 2003, Kara acquired additional certifications in Equine Massage and Animal Chiropractic.
Kara’s passion for horseback riding began at the early age of 6 years old. She later began instructing riding in 1995, and has continued her teaching career into the present with over 15 years of experience.
Kara’s show experience includes showing for the Lake Erie College Equestrian Team in the Open Division, where she qualified and rode in Nationals two times. She also became a Regional Champion with the 2nd highest points for the entire region. In addition to these credentials, Kara traveled to Venezuela, where she had the opportunity to be a groom for the Barbados Olympic Team in 1998!
Presently, Kara is the sole coach for the Lassiter High School Equestrian Team housed at Green Acres Equestrian Center, LLC and an approved I.E.A. Trainer/Instructor. She is one of Green Acres’ in-house trainers and Instructors of all levels and ages in the disciplines of hunters, equitation, jumpers and basic dressage.
