Through this experience, she gained insight from top judges nationwide. An opportunity then arose to show Paint horses at nationally recognized events. She has also had the privilege of being invited to be a ring steward at the Northwest Welsh Pony National Final. Most recently, she had the honor of training with Michelle Morris and Yoron Zohar.
In regards training horses, Kelsey enjoys starting horses and taking them through the pre-greens. Her style incorporates natural horsemanship along with traditional methods according to the horse’s needs. In recent years, she has had the benefit of taking several young warmbloods to their first shows. Kelsey’s believes in taking baby steps in training to make a happier more relaxed horse.
Kelsey believes that learning to ride should be fun and rewarding even on the worst days and her teaching style certainly reflects that attitude! Kelsey’s young students and their parents have been thrilled with both their enjoyment and their rapid progress. She specializes in teaching beginner through intermediate riders, and has experience taking them through 2 foot 6 inch plus jumps. She is looking forward to a great show season with her beginner riders who are participating in the New Classic Horse Show series out of Cartersville, Georgia.
